I just love these slow Saurday mornings, a time that for one morning that we do not have to rush around so much

We have a tempeature of 35 degrese this morning and it looks like aboue at least 3 inches of snow on the ground. I hope that you still in that bed right now and enjoying you extra rest. I am wondering about my friends at Sara's Dog Training blog. I don't know if I can make it this morning with all ths snow on the ground, but I want my three friends to know that I never will forget you. If you are out in the snow please drive carefully. Dad's Southern Fried Green Tomatoes
.
.*6 Green Tomatoes *Salt and Pepper *Corn Meal *Vegetable Oil *2 Eggs, beaten .
.
( Here is a little tip about the tomatoes you choose to fry, when choosing your tomatoes, don't pick the lsrge ones always use the smaller ones they are so much better in tenderness and flavor. )
.
Slice the tomatoes into 1/4-1/2 inch slices. Salt and pepper them to taste.Dip slices in beaten egg, then in the corn meal. Fry in hot oil about three minutes on each side ( I use a large electric skillet to fry mine in ) until they are golden brown. Now sit back and smile.
.
You may wonder why I am talking about` fried green tomatoes here at 3 a.m. on this Thursday morning, here is the reason, I have talk with several people lately that were just not to well pleased with what they were served. And I am affraid that this might cause them to stop eating them .
.
Let me tell you the problem. It the cook not the tomatoes, If you will look at the recipe and go by it you will be telling every one how much you love fried green tomatoes.
.
Sara I was very busy yesterday but I did not forget you , Misty or Oreo. I did go by but I was in to much of a rush. But I am back again this morning with more time, I am going to click on this Sara's Dog Training link and look at your blog..Dad.

It is Thursday and I am up feeling good again, we did have a very busy day yesterday. Everything went well, it was around 5 p.m. when we reached home. I know that you are needing coffee, so am I. It is ready let's have a cup and I warnu its hot and strong. Dad.

We are going to be very busy today, you may remember me telling you about our friend Vivian being very sick. Well we will be at her funeral at 2 p.m. today. We are going to miss here so very much, but we do rejoice that she finished a long life faithful to the end of the journey. ( Joy and sorrow interwoven, Love in all I see.) When We received news of her death these words that Jesus spoke about a woman came to me. (Let her alone she has done what she could.)

I am feeling so much better this morning, I am getting more rest and I can tell a big difference. It is giving me a little more time to keep my WILDLIFE HABITAT in good order and the birds are smiling.

Good Morning on this Sunday morning 1/24/10. I feel so different this morning. All the rest that I had yesterday was so good for me. If I sounded ill yesterday please forgive me. I hope to see you in the morning with a smile. DAD

Well here is Oreo in the snow. I was able to get this much done this morning and I am glad that I did. Here below is what I had in yesterdays blog. I will leave it because it explains thing so well. DAD.

My plans were to have Oreo's picture on this today ( Friday ) also but I did not make it, I hope Oreo will not be angry with me. He knows that I love him, and OREO i will try to have you on here tomorrow.
And here is what Sara has to say about Oreo. My 3 year old boy who is full of energy. He lives to play, and I really think he would rather play with his ball than eat.

We also should look at Tennessee Granddaddy today and every day. Do you like a good joke, well he always has one. You know that he is the only son that I have, and Mary is my only daughter. I Love them both very much and I don't think that I could make it without them both trying to cheer me on each day. Dad.

A little note to all children, please do love your Dad & Mom with all your heart, and treat them kindly, they will not be with you forever. I wish that I could say Good Morning to mine this morning, but that time is gone for me.

Today is Saturday and it did not come any to soon for me. I have had enough...Tomorrow is the day that I have been wanting to see. I want to forget every thing about writing blogs, and have my mind on something that is worthwhile. All these natural things, and we ourselves will soon be gone from this fadeing scene. Why invest in something that will someday be burned up.

Tough Trees Junipers give scores of animals a boost in winter by providing a rich supply of food and protection from the cold.Learn more about these tough trees.

I am sure that the wild birds do love these Juniper trees, mentioned above. And here is something else that they love and that is a WILDLIFE HABITAT. I am so proud of mine, the number of it is 121,049 and it is located in Knoxville, TN. near the Smokies. I do my best to have plenty of food and water for the birds anytime they come by. Especially in these cold winter months. They will not have any trouble locating it, they will see the air full of birds long before they get there.

WHAT'S NEW AT MY HOUSE

We also should look at Tennessee Granddaddy today and every day. Do you like a good joke, well he always has one. You know that he is the only son that I have, and Mary is my only daughter. I Love them both very much and I don't think that I could make it without them both trying to cheer me on each day. Dad.

A little note all children, please do love your Dad & Mom with all your heart, and treat them kindly, they will not be with you forever. I wish that I could say Good Morning to mine this morning, but that time is gone for me.

I am going to stop and visit the coffee pot again. If you haven't been here yet there is a pot full of Starbucks waiting for you and it is the bold X. Smile.

A good friend of mine Eric who lives in Australia sent me some pictures that I wanted to share with you. The pictures show the northern lights in Yellow Knife, Canada,

These pictures are spectacular and the teepees look very pretty in the dark. But maybe not cozy… check out that outdoor thermometer.

Sautéed Cherry Tomatoes - Serves 4
From JOAN PUTNICK

2 Tablespoon butter
1 Pint Cherry Tomatoes
¼ teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
2 Tablespoon chopped fresh basil
2 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
2 Tablespoon thinly sliced green onion
1 ½ teaspoon finely chopped garlic

Melt 1 Tablespoon butter in a large skillet.

Add tomatoes and salt and pepper. Sauté until skins start to split open…about 3 minutes.

Stir in parsley, basil, green onions and garlic. Cook stirring for 2 minutes.

Reduce heat to low. Add 1 Tablespoon butter. Stir to coat well. Serve immediately.

We had a little scare yesterday morning, we thought that we had lost the EAGLES, but no they are still here.

Preventing Late Blight

Last year was a sad year in the tomato world, wasn’t it?
It felt like every other word I read on gardening sites mentioned “blight.”
Rain, an influx of new gardeners (which meant a larger chance for spreading), infected plants sold at retail chains and other conditions meant many tomato plants fell prey to late blight.
Next year can be better, though, if we all take steps to manage the disease.
The fungus needs a host that is living, so it will die on tomato plants left over the winter. It’s best to clean them all out, though, to help prevent any of the other diseases.
